“In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death even death on a cross! Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” Philippians 2:5-11
I was at a Christmas Show in the New York City Theatre District years ago. The ending scene was the Nativity scene where the narrator read Luke 2. Very solemn, very still, but very slowly, powerfully pounding each Word into our souls. What a wonderful public worship!
For the Scriptures today, let us prayerfully reflect together as we worship our Dear Lord! Meditate about Jesus: moving from His very humble earthly beginning to become exalted to the highest above all names in such a short period of time. Isn’t it amazing? I pray that this brings a joyous grateful smile on your face. Now, let us take a deep breath and visualize: how grand it will be when every knee in heaven and on earth and under the earth bows at the name of Jesus; and every tongue confesses that Jesus Christ is Lord! And how magnificently splendid it will be when we all worship to God’s Glory, the Glory that last forever and ever into eternity. Thank You so much, Jesus!
May our Lord Jesus Christ be pleased with our togetherness - in Him, through Him and by Him, all for His Glory!
Prayer Focus: Dear Jesus, You love us so much that we want to love You back by obeying and worshipping You every moment of the precious life that You give us! We praise You with the harp; make music to You on the ten-stringed lyre. Sing to You a new song, play skillfully and shout for joy (Psalm 33:3)! Praise the Lord for all! In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
