“At daybreak Jesus went out to a solitary place…” Luke 4:42
The alarm goes off and you begin to come to after hitting the snooze button two more times. You find yourself quickly concentrating upon the day’s full agenda ahead. After you prepare the kids for school, you remember your report that still requires some fine-tuning, which by the way is due for this morning’s meeting. Somewhere within the chaos you search for your own attire. Wow, another typical day.
Friends, have you ever noticed Jesus’ ministry agenda? His daily schedule was spent in impromptu meetings, with various speaking engagements, along with calling new recruits while training apprentices, and all intertwined within a difficult travel schedule. Read the context of our above scripture verse for proof of a day in the life of our Savior. Despite this busyness, Jesus made it a priority to make time alone with the Father God.
Now if Jesus thought it important to make quiet time and pray, why can’t we? Honestly, I find intimacy with our God through prayer. It is in these private moments especially prior to the craziness of the day that I draw strength and direction to make it over the hurdles that may come my way.
Before the chaos of life finds you, seek Him who can keep it all together!
Prayer Focus: Lord, thank You for always hearing my prayers and walking with me today. Make me sensitive to new opportunities, interruptions, and surprises before me. May I go forward in confidence knowing that in You God, all things are possible. I humbly pray Lord that You provide for me the required wisdom, courage, and peace, for every situation I face and may I do my best to bring You glory. Amen.
